Somehow, some way, there are still people out there who believe the FBI openly admits that the Sandy Hook massacre never occurred. This isn’t something these folks claim happened once or twice by mistake and was quickly swept under the rug forever. No, they believe that this incredible admission of guilt has been public this whole time, posted for all to see on the FBI’s official website. That would be the very same website in which they also include the twenty-seven killed and two wounded during the attack in their Study of Active Shooter Incidents in the United States Between 2000 and 2013:

And that’s only one of over one hundred and fifty references to the shooting on their site, none of which state that it was just a “drill” or that no one died. Go ahead and check.

So of course the claim never made any sense. Why would the FBI, of all people, purposely and continuously expose one of the worst mass shootings in American history – a shooting they themselves responded to and investigated – as a total fraud? And on their very own website, nonetheless, where the tragedy still looms large otherwise. It’s nonsense.

While such absurdities are to be expected from Sandy Hook deniers, what has managed to catch me a bit off guard is how often they leave comments about it here, on this site, as if they’ve finally stumbled upon indisputable, bombshell evidence that I either haven’t seen yet or don’t have an answer for. The reason this is so baffling is because I thoroughly debunked this hooey back in 2016. It’s not even that long an entry! I guess the “do your own research” crowd is just dogshit at doing theirs.

So, for the sake of increased visibility, I’m going to debunk it again, this time in its very own entry. After all, my previous takedown of this particular claim has only ever been published as part of my series on Jim Fetzer’s rancid “Nobody Died At Sandy Hook”. And since Sandy Hook conspiracy theorists have proven themselves unwilling or unable to use the site’s search feature (it’s literally the second result when you search “FBI UCR”), maybe they’ve just never seen it. Regardless, it’s long overdue.

“Nobody Died At Sandy Hook”
Chapter Five

By: “Vivian Lee, PhD”

This one was a real chore to get through. At thirty-three pages (Illuminati alert!), it’s the longest chapter thus far and dense with. This is another chapter that originally started as an entry on the rancid “Veteran’s Today”. That entry was already two-years-old by the time it was reprinted in this book, but Lee claims that the content is “still as valid as ever”. Let’s see if there’s any truth to that.

“Nobody Died At Sandy Hook”
Chapter Seven
By: Allan Powell and Kelley Watt

Let’s say you’re the kind of person who enjoys magic shows. So you gather up the family one Friday night and head on down to the… well, wherever it is a magician would perform. You splurge a bit on front row tickets and take your seat, excited for a night of family-friendly entertainment. The magician finally takes the stage and kicks the night off by pulling a rabbit out of his hat. It’s an old trick, but the kids are impressed and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves anyway. The magician then spends the next hour and a half repeatedly performing the very same trick, pulling the same rabbit out of the same hat, over and over and over again. You’d be pretty pissed, right? Because that’s the situation we find ourselves in with Fetzer and his crew pulling the same dumb trick yet again: presenting photos out of order as well as out of context.

The structure for this chapter’s debunk is going to be a little different: rather than break it down on a claim-by-claim basis, I’m going to address a page or multiple pages at a time, highlighting certain areas. It’ll be much easier to follow if you not only have a copy of Fetzer’s book (which I certainly hope you didn’t pay for) as well as the files available through Connecticut’s final report, which I will be referencing frequently.

#10 – “There Was An Emergency Preparedness Drill/Exercise Nearby”

Mentioned at least three times in “Nobody Died At Sandy Hook”, FEMA’s “Planning for the Needs of Children in Disasters” is alternately mischaracterized as a “drill” or an “exercise”. In reality, “Planning for the Needs of Children in Disasters” is a six hour independent study course, based on material taken from this document by Save The Children. While FEMA offers the course online, some state organizations also teach it in a classroom environment, which means that it ends up looking a bit more like this:

Than this:

If you’ve got a sharp eye, you may be able to spot a couple of differences!

In my previous entry, I was able to objectively demonstrate not only that the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine (“The Wayback Machine”) is a thoroughly worthless tool for measuring a public school’s “Internet activity” (let alone its actual operation), but that in using outdated information as part of their “research”, the ghouls responsible for “Nobody Died At Sandy Hook” have shown themselves to be totally inept, if not intentionally deceitful. But there’s still a bit of life left in this horse (and I’m not talking about James Fetzer).

One of the more pervasive zombie myths still being propagated by the Sandy Hook denialist cult is the lie that Sandy Hook Elementary School quietly closed in 2008 and was therefore empty when Adam Lanza (who may or may not have even existed, depending on which wackadoo you’re dealing with) carried out his deadly attack on December 14th, 2012. This alleged closure was so quiet, in fact, that not a single local media outlet covered it.

This absurd fantasy seems to have originated with professional conspiracy theorist James Fetzer, a bloated carny who has been supplementing his retirement income with a series of increasingly insane (and lazy, based on the fact that nearly every word in “Nobody Died At Sandy Hook” was lifted from a pre-existing blog entry) books declaring everything that has ever happened – from the moon landing to the Boston Marathon bombing – to be an elaborate fake. And despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary (including numerous photographs depicting a bustling school, years worth of PTA meeting minutes, school facilities surveys, news articles, job listings, etc.), Fetzer has seemingly based this outrageous claim entirely on a combination of outdated information and a total – and possibly intentional, though that may be giving him too much credit – misunderstanding of how the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine functions. That’s it.

Chapter Three
By: James Fetzer

This chapter is simply a rehash of Wolfgang Halbig’s embarrassing presentation to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Committee during his first FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) hearing, which CW Wade of Sandy Hook Facts summarized thusly:

Wolfgang Halbig’s spent about $20,000 raised through his charity, Sandy Hook Justice, for two days worth of hearings. He was awarded no documents and the majority of his complaints where dismissed in their entirety.  It should also be noted that the documents Halbig obtained at a cost of  about $20,000, Sandy Hook Facts obtained for under $100.

Ouch.
